Description
Pleated cartridges represent a valid filtration solution for various applications. They are manufactured from certified raw materials which meet specific technical characteristics to ensure the cartridges are strong and reliable.
More specifically the mechanical strength, an important quality factor for filter cartridges, is ensured by the fact that the spun-bonded polyester is obtained from 100% pure continuous fibres.
After the pleating, performed ensuring that minimum parameters are met for each pleat, the filter element is first fitted around a rigid polypropylene support to provide stability, and then inserted in a PP body and closed with two caps, one top and one bottom.
The pleating allows a huge filtration surface to be obtained, with symmetrically distributed openings across the entire length, allowing for better cartridge performance as the water is not able to create preferential channels and thus usage is uniform across the entire available surface.
This results in greater efficiency and longer lifespans. The polyester cartridges can be reused over time without losing their filtering efficiency; the lifespan will obviously be dependent on operating conditions. It is not recommended to use this product under extreme environmental conditions as, even with frequent, thorough maintenance, at a certain point this may not be sufficient to remove any
residues which could leach into the fabric over time, thus encouraging bacterial growth. Thus, like for any type of washable cartridge, it is advisable not to reuse it for too long in order to prevent the benefits being lost.
Polyester is, by nature, a material compatible with a huge range of chemical products, and as a consequence the cartridges can also be used in special treatment situations where it is not possible to use products which are not tolerant of contact with chemical solvents or reagents.
Polyester cartridges can also be used in treatment of water for human consumption, as the materials are completely food safe.
