Description
Aqua offers various models of polyphosphate salt filter cartridges, available in various formats and with different specifications.
Polyphosphate salts are effective anti-scaling agents, and therefore ideal for treating very hard water, and wherever eliminating scale and corrosion is required. The polyphosphate cartridges consist of a plastic housing whose size depends on the application in question, containing a quantity of salt in crystals of different sizes.
After dissolving in the water, the polyphosphate salt inhibits the formation of encrustations such as calcium carbonate (limescale) in the pipework or inside the operating mechanisms, thus preventing breakdowns.
All polyphosphate salt cartridges require a certain contact time, meaning that the water flowing through the cartridge must remain in contact with the product for the process to work; the high solubility of these salts means that this time is relatively short. The particular structure of the polyphosphate salt crystals leads to modest pressure drops. Polyphosphate salts are commonly used in the treatment of water destined for use in technologies: as a matter of fact, applicable regulations allow minimal permitted dosages when treating water destined for human consumption, and as such in these cases precise control and dosing will be required, such as that provided by our dosing pumps (available in the Aqua Dosing Systems catalogue).
It is therefore important to assess the usage of the polyphosphate salt cartridges in order to correctly identify which solution to employ. For maintenance and operating conditions, see the technical instructions given in the reference tables for each model.
